Special Diary Entry – Feb. 9
Dear Sole Sisters,
I just couldn’t help myself sending this note just a day before the next class as vivid images of last Tuesday have stayed with me all week. I am training with the first timers. I paired up with my nieces friend Cheryl whom I haven’t spoken with in years and whose company I thoroughly enjoy.
We were chatting, straggling somewhere between the groups ahead and behind us, coming up to a cross street off of the main thoroughfare when a driver, who absolutely didn’t care to look, came blasting at us at full speed. Being on the outside I would have ended up directly under the front wheels if Cherly hadn’t managed to grab me. I laughed anxiously when I thanked her for making the great save and she quietly accepted my thanks. Later we talked about the vehicle, and the headlights and that it was really scary. Something about that night was left undone. I think it might be my need to impart the benefit of staying close to someone when it’s dark, and that help can always work both ways. And, thanks again Cheryl, really.
Judy
Web Girl’s Note: Sorry this is late being posted, after a week in hospital from coughing badly, I am now home again but fighting pneumonia. Updates will happen just slowly.
WOW… thanks Judy for sharing your experience and THANK YOU Cheryl for being a safety sister in action! YES great point… running with a partner… is not only a great motivator, a great friend but it is also another set of eyes and ears along with you to help!
Safety first…! THANKS!
