those new and those returning to the sisterhood!
First night is always full of emotion as we embark together on many possible ‘news’; a new venture, a new goal, a new program, a new clinic or perhaps you just adopted a ‘new’ item on your BUCKET LIST! Regardless, for some reason we have all found ourselves together in the gym on Tuesday nights and for 13 more to come. Please remember, this is your clinic… a safe, motivating and compassionate place where we all want to witness each other’s accomplishments as well as our own through proper training, education and coaching. Please take the time you need to be comfortable, challenged and accomplished. There is no pressure, only a room full of women that will be there every step of your journey cheering you on.

Snow Sisters??
Well… “snow sisters” I have ordered beautiful January weather for our kick off date of Jan. 24th… do not worry!
Registration update… please note that January 17th was simply my ‘dream’ date of having all registrations handed in by…reality is always different… not to panic. Registrations are still being accepted…
Leaders… 30 of us are preparing for our training this Sunday and yes for YOU:)
PLEASE NOTE: Shoe fitting night has been moved to Monday, January 30th at FRONTRUNNERS downtown…Bra fit night has been moved to Monday, Feb. 6th at the same location. Please if you have any concerns on shoes right now and YES it is important that the shoe fit…and well… contact Rob at Frontrunners (250.382.8181) or (rob@frontrunners.ca) and he or his staff will help you! Let him know you are a Sole Sister:)
Lastly, walking in the snow is a great workout…one hour of shovelling is near the equivalent of a 5k distance when speaking calories. Running in the snow… hmmmm not as safe… check out a treadmill at your local recreation centre!

FINAL TEAM JACK Marathon Relay 2011 Wrap-Up
Hello everyone,
Well it might take many hours to complete the marathon… but I have discovered… not as long as it takes to do the video:) I really wanted to make sure I captured our 5.5 hour venture in photos and not miss anyone that it included. I think this may be the perfect time of year to share this with you – in many ways it reminded me of many things I am grateful for.
So – when you have about 14 minutes to spare, turn up your volume, widen your screen and push the play button below. Enjoy the memories that YOU are a big part of… YES it is long…but I know it reminded me of why we do what we do… you are all a part of this ‘production’ in some way… enjoy!
…AND I am thrilled to announce that The TEAM JACK 2011 Marathon Relay raised $6922.06 ~ all to the pediatric oncology ward at VGH! Amazing…
This brings TEAM JACK fundraising to over $35,000 over the past 3 years. In addition to this another $27,000+ was raised through our events and fundraising efforts for BC Children’s Hospital.
EXCITING NEWS: After submitting the chq from the TEAM JACK 2011 efforts… I learned that the much need isolation room for our VGH pediatric oncology ward has been approved for construction and YES our fundraising efforts will make it happen!

Hello everyone…it just feels right…
… 9 months and counting as of today – June 29th, 2012 is Jack’s last day of treatment…so I am holding true to my promise and running the marathons until he is done his ultra marathon…BUT really would love your company! If you don’t want to actually walk or run a kilometer there are other parts of TEAM JACK that could use more hands…

Please know… this is not about me… but about a team of people that come together to bring awareness, raise funds to keep at our local VGH pediatric oncology ward and move for a lot of kids that just want to be running, walking and outside of hospital walls… YES be like kids! Everyone welcome… individuals, kids, families… it is a team effort.

We would like to thank all those who came out and supported the 2nd Annual KidsRun Victoria at Tillicum Centre on June 12th.
It was a beautiful day in the sunshine and everyone seemed to have a really great time.
Your support and generosity was amazing. We are just tallying up, and will have a final total of money raised to support pediatric oncology as soon as we can.
